The My Ashtanga Yoga Practice mobile application (the "App") is published and operated by Rao Ventures LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
A. Personal Data You Provide
We do not require you to create an account, register, or provide personal information (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to use the App.
B. App Usage & Local Data Storage
All your practice settings (such as breath timing preferences, audio settings, and progress data) are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal practice data on external servers.
C. In-App Purchases & Subscription Processing
When you purchase a subscription or unlock premium features, transactions are processed securely through the
Apple App Store (via Apple In-App Purchase) or Google Play Store (via Google
Play Billing). We use RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) to manage subscription status,
validate purchase receipts, and restore purchases.
- We do not collect, receive, or store your credit card details or financial information.
- RevenueCat uses an anonymous, random App User ID to associate and verify your active subscription entitlement without linking it to your personal identity.
D. Automatically Collected Information & Telemetry
To improve app quality, performance, stability, and user experience, the App uses trusted developer telemetry and analytics services to collect aggregate, non-personally identifiable technical and usage data:
- EAS Insights (Expo Application Services): Collects aggregate operational and diagnostic metrics, such as app launch/cold start events, app store version distribution, and platform performance trends.
- Vexo Analytics (
vexo.co): Collects aggregate usage events (such as screen navigation, feature interactions, device model, and OS version).
Neither service collects your name, email, physical location, audio recordings, or private practice data. Standard non-identifying crash and performance reports may also be collected by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) in accordance with your device privacy settings.
E. Apple HealthKit (iOS only)
On iOS, the App requests permission to write Yoga workout data (start time, end time, and workout type) to Apple Health via HealthKit. This data:
- Is written only after you grant explicit permission via the iOS system permission prompt.
- Is stored locally in Apple Health on your device; we do not transmit, receive, or store your HealthKit data on our servers.
- Is never used for advertising, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than logging your practice to Apple Health.
- Can be removed at any time by revoking the App's Health access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → My Ashtanga Yoga Practice.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Save your custom breath rate (Breaths Per Minute) and practice preferences locally on your device.
- Deliver and validate your active Pro subscription access via RevenueCat.
- Monitor app stability, launch reliability, and version adoption across platforms via EAS Insights.
- Analyze aggregated app usage patterns and navigation trends to optimize app performance and usability via Vexo Analytics.
- Write completed practice sessions to Apple Health as Yoga workouts (iOS only, with your explicit permission).
3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any personal user data with third-party advertisers. Diagnostic telemetry and subscription validation are processed strictly through Expo (EAS Insights), RevenueCat, and Vexo Analytics for app stability, subscription fulfillment, functionality, and user experience improvement. Apple HealthKit data is written directly to Apple Health on your device and is never transmitted to or accessed by our servers. No third-party targeted advertising networks, marketing trackers, or tracking pixels are integrated into the App.
4. Children's Privacy
Our App is safe for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
5. Security of Your Data
Your data security is preserved by storing all user preferences locally on your physical device. You can clear all app data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage through your device settings.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected within the App's legal documentation and in our App Store / Google Play listings.
